Prices from TTSL's 2026 fare table (valid from 1 January, revised on 16 March and 15 May), for one trip in one direction. The half fare covers ages 4 to 12 inclusive, is sold only over the counter and for no more than two trips; TTSL's general rules let children up to 4 travel without a ticket. Zapping costs the same as a single. Bikes, scooters, wheelchairs and pushchairs go free. All fares in euros (EUR).
The Seixal ferry runs to Cais do Sodré in Lisbon, with an average journey of 20 minutes according to TTSL – Transtejo Soflusa's route page; the note issued with the December 2025 weekday timetable gave 22 minutes. At Cais do Sodré, Seixal boats have boarded from room 1 since 15 October 2026, under a TTSL notice effective that day; the room may change.
Service levels vary a lot through the week. Weekdays have 27 departures in each direction, bunched in the early morning and late afternoon, with a long gap over lunchtime. Saturdays drop to 11 each way and Sundays and public holidays to 9. There are no night boats: on weekdays the last one leaves Cais do Sodré at 23:15, and earlier at weekends.
A single costs €2.85, the same as a zapping trip. The €1.45 half fare is for children aged 4 to 12, sold only at a staffed desk for up to two trips; under TTSL's general regulations, a child up to 4 needs no ticket. Commuters can choose TTSL's 30-day Seixal pass (€37.60) or the navegante metropolitano at €40 a month. Pets over 5 kg pay €1.45.
Seixal's river terminal, opened on 1 June 1997, has one boarding room, a free car park with 1,878 spaces, bike parking and connections with Carris Metropolitana buses. Its staffed ticket desk is closed at weekends and on public holidays. The machines take coins, notes and cards and on weekdays run 05:45–22:30, which means they shut before the 22:35 last departure from Seixal.
The route uses Transcat catamarans, with nine spaces for bikes or scooters, and fully electric catamarans with twenty; one per passenger, carried free. On Saturdays since 1 August 2026, TTSL has added trial electric-boat sailings that also call at Barreiro; they are not part of this board.
- Get to the pier in good time: vehicle boarding can close before the departure time.
- Check the operator's notices on the day — bad weather, swell, fog or breakdowns can change or cancel crossings.
- Check where to buy your ticket and which travel passes or transport cards the route accepts.
