TTSL's current Montijo timetable, with no published start or end date (displayed until 31-03-2027)
Boats leaving when full In a notice of 30-12-2025, TTSL said that when boats are short, some morning-peak Montijo sailings leave as soon as they are full, whatever the scheduled time. On those days the board's times are only a guide.
Strikes During the strike of 3 June 2026 the Montijo route only started at 07:00, with sailings announced through the day. In such cases follow the notices and the live departures panel on ttsl.pt.

One-way trip prices from the table TTSL has applied since January 2026, last revised in mid-May. The half fare is for ages 4 to 12 inclusive, sold in person only, for at most two trips; the general regulations exempt children up to age 4 from holding a ticket. TTSL's page for older passengers mentions a 25% discount on the Montijo 30-day senior pass, but the fare table shows no price for it. Paying by zapping works out at the ticket price. There is no extra charge for a bike, scooter, wheelchair or pushchair. All fares in euros (EUR).
TTSL – Transtejo Soflusa's Montijo boats arrive at the river terminal the company calls Cais do Seixalinho, opened on 17 December 2002. The crossing from Cais do Sodré takes 25 minutes on average. At the Montijo end there is a single boarding room, 1,500 parking spaces that cost nothing, somewhere to leave bikes, and a Carris Metropolitana stop and taxi rank. In Lisbon, since 9 September 2026 you board for Montijo in room 4 at Cais do Sodré, according to TTSL's notice for this route; the room can change with a new notice.
Sailings cluster around the rush hours. On weekdays there are 22 departures from Montijo and 21 from Cais do Sodré, but from late morning into the afternoon the Montijo departures are 90 minutes apart. Saturdays offer 11 crossings in each direction; Sundays and holidays only 8, with at least two hours between the morning boats. There are no night sailings.
Each trip is €3.25, whether you buy a ticket or pay with zapping credit. Children from 4 to 12 pay half, €1.65, on a ticket sold only over the counter and valid for no more than two trips; younger children travel without one under the company's regulations. Regular commuters can pick TTSL's own Montijo pass (30 days, €39.15) or the €40-a-month metropolitan navegante pass. TTSL's page for older passengers also mentions a 25% discount on the Montijo 30-day senior pass, though its price is not in the fare table.
At Seixalinho the staffed ticket desk does not open at weekends or on public holidays, leaving the machine, which accepts cash or a bank card and stays on until the last boat of the day leaves Montijo. The Transcat catamarans have nine spaces for bikes or scooters, split between the bar area and the bow, and carrying one costs nothing. Animals above 5 kg pay €1.65.
- Get to the pier in good time: vehicle boarding can close before the departure time.
- Check the operator's notices on the day — bad weather, swell, fog or breakdowns can change or cancel crossings.
- Check where to buy your ticket and which travel passes or transport cards the route accepts.
